Romania has launched a new non-refundable funding program for battery energy storage systems to the tune of EUR 150 million ($158 million), this time dedicated to standalone facilities.
The scheme also supports investments in electricity storage capacity by reimbursing costs in the amount up to EUR 167,000 per MWh of storage or EUR 15 million per project.
Under the scheme, the aid will take form of a direct grant to projects selected through a competitive bidding process. The aid per beneficiary will not exceed: (i) 100% of the project''s funding
